Build the skills that make painting possible. This class guides you step-by-step from pencil drawing to ink, color pastels, and, for some students, acrylic painting. Each stage develops observation, line, value, and color - so you’re not just painting, you’re learning how to see. Students work at their own pace, creating finished mixed media pieces that reflect their current level. Some may progress into paint during the session; others will build a strong foundation to get there. This class can be taken multiple times to build skills, with returning and advanced students moving into acrylics sooner. Materials: Drawing pad, pencils, and black ink. Additional materials (pastels, acrylics) will be introduced as you progress; instructor will advise when needed.
***Class is taught by a bi-lingual instructor, and both English and Spanish-speaking students are welcome! ***
Desarrolla las habilidades para pintar en esta clase paso a paso que avanza del lápiz a la tinta, pasteles y, para algunos, acrílico. Los estudiantes trabajan a su ritmo creando obras en medios mixtos según su nivel. No todos llegarán a la pintura durante el curso; algunos se enfocarán en construir una base sólida. Puede tomarse varias veces, y los estudiantes avanzados progresarán al acrílico más pronto. Materiales: Bloc de dibujo, lápices y tinta negra. Materiales adicionales (pasteles y acrílicos) se introducirán según avances.
