In physician practice it is common for the Medical Biller to also be the Medical Coder because physicians depend on the Biller/Coder to determine the diagnostic codes for procedures. In this class, you will learn how to find the proper procedure (CPT-4) and diagnostic codes (ICD-10), how to do proper code sequencing, and when to use these codes.

Prerequisite: Medical Terminology or experience in the medical field.
Required Books:
ICD-10-CM for Physicians (Professional or Expert). Any preferred publisher.
CPT Professional Edition (CPT/Current Procedural Terminology). Published by American Medical Association.
For both books, old editions are permitted if only to be used for practice (2024 - 2017). Current edition (2026) if to be used for current year’s license exam.
