Medical Coding & ICD-10/CPT-4

ID : 5753
« back to classes page
In this class you will learn how to fulfill the obligations of the medical biller/coder. In physician practice it is very common for the biller to be the coder as well, this is because the physicians are responsible for determining the procedures while depending on the biller/coder to determine the diagnostic codes. You will learn procedure and diagnostic codes including ICD 10, plus how insurance companies cover their patients, and how claims are paid. Some of the reasons many people choose this rewarding field that is very much in demand:
  • It involves organization and detail-oriented work.
  • It does not require direct contact with patients or bodily fluids.
  • It’s an easy transition from other fields, like the insurance or mortgage industry.
Prerequisite: working knowledge of Medical Terminology I-III or equivalent.  There will be a half-hour break.
