Become one of the most in-demand professionals in California and the nation! Pharmacy Technicians in Southern California earn an average of $49,990 per year with greater Los Angeles ranking as third highest in urban center for pharmacy technician employment in the nation (Source: U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Prepare to work in a retail pharmacy and pass a national certification exam through 184 hours of classroom instruction with a 120-hour pharmacy externship. You will gain exposure to the preparation of medications, maintaining client records, assisting with inventory control, purchasing, collecting payments, coordinating billing, and much more. Fees are inclusive of all instruction and externship, exclude textbooks.
This is a 23-week online course with one topic or “module” covered each week. Attendance is very important to get the most out of this class and your California Pharmacy Board mandated hours-of-instruction.
A payment plan is available! Call for details.
By the end of the class, you will receive a document that is officially signed and marked by LACC that will qualify you to apply for licensing.
For those who asked, your proof of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and background check is only required at the time you apply for the license. You do not need it to take the class.
Externships are like internships, but you’ll do most of the logistics and scheduling yourself. Your instructor will help you find a good pharmacy and smooth out the details to prepare you for your externship.
